Order & Geometry Workshop

Ciążeń Palace, September 19 - 22, 2018

The workshop will be an informal meeting of around 30 people working in combinatorics and theoretical computer science with special emphasis on discrete geometry, partially ordered sets and all kinds of interplays between them.

This includes: geometric intersection graphs, geometric representations of graphs, point and line arrangements, Schnyder woods and related graph orientations, parameters of partially ordered sets, especially order dimension.

The format of the workshop will be problem and research oriented. We plan to have only few talks and mainly sit and work in groups.

Here is a tentative list of participants (27): Oswin Aichholzer, Jean Cardinal, Vida Dujmović, David Eppstein, Stefan Felsner, Radoslav Fulek, Daniel Gonçalves, Grzegorz Gutowski, Penny Haxell, Tony Huynh, Gwenaël Joret, Kolja Knauer, Tomasz Krawczyk, Tomasz Łuczak, Patrice Ossona de Mendez, Tamás Mészáros, Piotr Micek, Pat Morin, Torsten Mütze, Günter Rote, Michał Seweryn, Raphael Steiner, Tom Trotter, Torsten Ueckerdt, Pavel Valtr, Birgit Vogtenhuber, Bartosz Walczak.

The workshop will take place in Ciążeń Palace near Poznań in Poland. The palace offers a number of guest rooms and full food service for the event. The cost of the workshop for each participant will be between 300 and 400 Euros. This price covers bedroom and meals.

Sep 18 is the suggested arrival day. The easiest way to get to the venue from Poznań is to take a train to Słupca. The Słupca station is just 10km away from the palace. If you come on Sep 18 or later we can pick you up from the station. The workshop ends with a lunch on Sep 22. Further information will be sent to the participants.

The workshop is scheduled just before the 7th Polish Combinatorial Conference, September 24-28, 2018, in Będlewo also near Poznań. We will offer a smooth transport between the venues.
